East Zone (Bill and Edi Anderson Scholarship)
Zachary Dickson
The scholarship recipient for the East Zone is Zachary Dickson. Zachary is a graduate of Rockingham Count High School in Reidsville, North Carolina. He was a member of the Rockingham High School baseball team for four years; he was a team captain for three years. He is also a two-time recipient of the Sportsmanship Award and received the Rockingham County Scholar-Athlete Award. Zachary has participated in Pony League throughout his youth. In addition to being a student athlete in high school, Zachary was active in the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish and Psychology Club, Beta Club and Peer Mediators. Zach was a volunteer board member of the Rockingham County Special Olympics, and also a summer volunteer for the Annie Penn Hospital, located in Greensboro, NC. He has also been active in the Hands of the Kingdom Youth Fellowship. In the fall, Zach will be attending the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a concentration in Biology.

North Zone
Jacob Thede
Jacob Thede is the scholarship recipient for the North Zone. Jacob is a resident of Bloomington, IL, and has been part of McLean County Pony Baseball for 14 years. Part of that time was spent as an umpire as well as a player. While at Bloomington High School, Jacob participated in golf and baseball. He earned two varsity letters in each sport. Jacob is a member of the National Honor Society and the Bloomington Area Career Center National Honor Society. He is also an Illinois State Scholar and received Illinois High School Association Big 12 Scholar Athlete honors. Jacob holds the honor of being the only one in school history to become Drafting Educators Association State Champion. Jacob plans to attend the University of Illinois School of Engineering in the fall.

South Zone
Clayton Reeves
Clayton Reeves is the Alumni Scholarship winner for the South Zone. Clayton is from Buda, Texas, and is a graduate of Jack C. Hays High School. He has been a participant in the Hays Youth Baseball Association for ten years, and more recently, a volunteer for the organization. He is the assistant coach for a team in the Pinto division, and also a PONY Umpire. He also volunteered his time for the HYBSA Sandlot and PONY Tournaments. In high school, Clayton was a 4-year member of both the football and baseball teams. In 2007-08, he was nominated to the THSCAA All-State 2nd team. Clayton is also a member of the National Honor Society. In the fall, he will attend Baylor University in Waco, TX and major in Engineering.

West Zone
Ryan Potts
The West Zone recipient of the Alumni Scholarship is Ryan Potts of West Covina, CA. Ryan has been active in Pony Baseball for 11 years. He is a graduate of West Covina High School where he was a member of the cross country, wrestling and baseball teams. He was the cross country team captain, and received All-League Cross Country honors twice. Ryan is a two-year letter winner in baseball, and earned the honor of Freshman Baseball Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named West Covina Athlete of the Week twice, and Athlete of the Month in October 2007. In addition to school and sports, Ryan spent four years volunteering at the WCYPB All-Star Tournament and at the West Covina Elks 4th of July Celebration. He was also a volunteer at the regional USDA office. Ryan was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll all four years of high school. He will be attending Cal State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA for civil engineering.
