East Zone (Bill and Edi Anderson Scholarship)
Georgia Guttadauro
The East Zone scholarship winner is Georgia Guttadauro. Georgia is a graduate of Concord-Carlisle Regional High School in Carlisle, Massachusetts. She played first base on her varsity softball team, a position that earned her numerous awards, including the Dual County League All-Star Player of the Year Award. She was also named a Scholastic All-Star Award by the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, as well as an All-Star title from the Lowell Sun. Georgia also played on the Black Ice National Tournament Team, the 2006 PONY Massachusetts State Champions and qualifiers for the 2007 PONY National Tournament, as well as the Concord Raiders Gold National Tournament Softball Team. Softball was not Georgia’s only sport. She was also a starter on the varsity field hockey team, a position that earned her another Boston Globe All-Star title, and where she was recognized as a Dual County All-Star. Georgia will attend the University of Pennsylvania this fall.

North Zone
Quinton Ford
The North Zone scholarship recipient is Quinton Ford. Quinton is a graduate of Downers Grove High School in Downers Grove, Illinois. Quinton plays Colt Baseball in the PONY League.  A dedicated athlete, Quinton was named Academic All-Conference in both Cross Country and Volleyball. He also served as Captain for the Naperville Volleyball Club and participated in Track and Field.  Quinton graduated as a National Merit Commended Student. He also received an Academic Achievement Award.  In addition to sports and academics, Quinton was dedicated to extra-curricular activities. He was an active member of the Spanish Honor Society, Relay for Life, and the Multi-Cultural Group. He also won a Silver Mathematics Award, volunteered for Alliance for the Children, and was a Physical Education Leader.  Quinton will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign this fall.

South Zone
Troy Stein
The scholarship recipient for the South Zone is Troy Stein. Troy is a graduate of Medina Valley High School in Castroville, Texas, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and was named Academic All-State.  As a member of his high school baseball team, Troy was named the 29-4A All-District Offensive MVP and the 29-4A All-Area Catcher. He was a Greater San-Antonio All-Star Catcher, and was chosen as the All-State 4S Second Team Catcher.  In addition to baseball, Troy played Football. He was a District 29-4A MVP and a District 29-4A All-Area Team Punter.  Aside from academics and sports, Troy was very involved in extra-curricular activities. He was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a Student Council Class Officer, Relay for Life, Caroling for Cans, and Breakfast under the Bridge. Troy will attend Texas A & M University in the fall.

West Zone
Jake Portugal
The West Zone scholarship recipient is Jake Portugal. Jake is a graduate of Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, California. He graduated on the honor roll, as a member ofthe National Honor Society, and received a Top Scholar Academic Award.  Jake served as his high school baseball team’s Captain. He received the Union Tribune Athlete Scholar Award, as well as the Mira Mesa Youth Baseball Scholarship Award. Jake was also named Second Team All-League.  In addition to his scholastic and athletic achievements, Jake was dedicated to several extra-curricular activities. He was an active participant in the Fellowship of Student Athletes and the San Diego Fire Cadet Academy. Jake will attend San Diego Mesa Community College in the fall.
